What I was going to post yesterday

But forgot. I now know the name of my favorite fruit!!! Before I didn't know the Chinese name, the English name, and I barely remember what it tastes like except for really delicious. Well it's called the mangosteen and here's a picture!
So beautiful.

Yesterday my mom bought this huge thing of Cadbury magic chocolate fingers..? When I say huge I don't mean like a big box, I mean this ginormous box about a meter long. I tried to find a picture online but I guess it's so dangerous to buy that many chocolate biscuits at once that they only have the pictures of normal sized boxes. While I was on the Kraft website, although I found no pictures there either, I did find a picture of a new Oreo product: fun sticks! Looks kinda like those swirly sticks you can get at an Asian market.

Phew

Today we were having a weekly meeting where all the important people say what they are doing. After the meeting, everyone disbanded. My desk is right near where the big meeting board is, and I had my glass of water on my desk because...I don't know where my water bottle has gotten off to. Anyway I was walking back towards my desk when I see my boss grabbing my glass of water and making off with it! I'm on the verge of saying something but then two things happen - I can't think of what I should say and I am overcome with silent laughter, so I let it go. He came back a minute later with the glass of water anyway.

Yesterday there was an arrival of some sample coffee Keurig flavors, including black tiger (super dark!) and revv pulse (gives you an energy boost!). There was also a flavor called iced french vanilla coffee which I'm sure is the same as french vanilla coffee but with ice but I was like wow this looks awesome!!! So I decided to make it.

Note: I practically never make coffee or drink it.

First I put the ice into this adequate looking cup and then put the Keurig cup inside the machine and pressed the little cup button. However, because of all the ice, the coffee reached all the way up to the rim of the cup and of course started overflowing as soon as I started adding stuff and stirring it in. I added a full packet of Splenda which gave it a really weird sweet flavor, and as if that wasn't gross enough, I then added some non-dairy creamer (it's all we've got at the office!).. which did not dissolve, again due to that hard cold culprit - ice. Basically I drank enough so that I could carry it around without anything falling out and once it was at my desk I ignored it for the rest of the day. So much for awesome!!! iced french vanilla coffee.

Then at my mom's company's cookout there was this WATER SLIDE but I didn't bring a swimsuit. Also the oldest kid on it was like 12, except for this one dad. But Lyle brought his trunks so I was like whatever I'll just go down in my clothes. The shorts I was wearing are these ones that are slightly big on me, and when they got wet they just expanded!! So then I walked around for the rest of the time holding them up. I briefly contemplated sporting a sag, but decided it wasn't the right look for me.

My goal for this weekend: Catch up on my Economist subscription!! I've gotten 3 so far, one that I've read like 1/3 of (the good third too), one that I've read maybe 2 or 3 articles out of, and one that is coming today and is probably already in my mailbox which is laying peacefully in the grass with the ants.

3 Disgusting Blotches

I HATE BUG BITES! Two that I got were especially itchy and they didn't just evolve into pink lumps, but took the next step of turning bright red. Not sure if it is a particular bug or if I am just picking up my mom's unfortunate habit of being extra allergic to bug bites.

There's one on my stomach, so there's an ugly blemish at the one place you are usually guaranteed to have clear skin. There's also one on my leg crease where it meets my torso - covered if I'm wearing a bikini bottom, not so if I'm wearing an athletic swimsuit. I'm sure scores of people saw it when I finally made it to the community swim center this week (first time all summer!). I hope they don't think I have an STD like genital warts or something. :( :(

The third one is this tiny baby blackhead near my lip that erupted into a postule. Okay to be honest, that makes it sound a lot worse than it is but I am really critical of it because it still looks really gross and I hate ittt. Should I pop it? I really would like to. But that's like bad for your skin or something. Meh.

This morning on the way to work, we were driving along mind our own business. Okay Lyle was driving and I was really doing nothing objectionable, when this motorcycle speeds near us and so I look at it cas it's so loud and the guy on it is wearing this gray shirt which is not tucked in so it's just flapping around there in the wind, and his back is all showing, which wasn't hanging out over his jeans or anything, but I was totally judging him in my head and being like gosh he should really take care of that. Ok I know it was prob tucked in to start with, but he could have tucked it in better so that it wouldn't make people like me cringe inside.

THEN after he passes us, he must have heard my thoughts because he turns around in his seat and POINTS at us. I mean there is really no other explanation!!!! Why else would he target us like that?!?

I'm so sorry, Lyle, for putting us in danger from motorcycle gray shirt man.

Speaking of random, there's a guy in SC who did absolutely no campaigning and won the Democratic primary for the US Senate. CRAZY! No one even knows who he is...he seems fairly unorganized, and has felony charges for trying to get a college freshman to his apartment by showing her porn --> wrong on many levels, but amusing.

That's the man himself! Alvin Greene. HERE is a decent summation article about it (erops to Lyle).

In other news, congrats to SK for making it to the next round, and I'm crossing my fingers that the NK soccer players don't get fed to lions or something. Their 7-0 loss to Portugal is like the first thing that's been aired live in NK - here's more about it. Hey maybe they'll be left in South Africa without any resources! Prob a step up.

CYBIOM - Can you believe it's only Monday?!?

This weekend was glorious! Lyle and I went to Wilmington. Everyone was asleep when we arrived at about 11, but we were greeted by a few of his animals. When we walked in the door I heard these adorable boin boin boin noises – I thought it was some kind of device that made those noises on purpose to put on a relaxing atmospheric setting but it was in fact a guinea pig! There was also a sweet but smelly spotty doggy anddd two kitties! One was sleek and fat and totally hogged the food bowl, while the other one had a lot of physical features in common with Lyle. No curly hair though. Then we played some Pokemon, yeaaah! ^__^

Saturday we were going to go to Pleasant Oaks, where they used to live. Soon after leaving, a torrent of rain came over us but we slogged through it until hitting some traffic, which we took as a sign that we weren’t meant to go just yet. Later the weather was perfect of course, and we went boating! The water was incredibly flat. At night we did some biking. The bike I used had a seat which was not Louisa-adjusted and was not super comfy but I haven’t biked in forever! Despite the investment of a $20 bike lock, my bike at Penn has pretty much been abandoned after the tire ran out of breath. In fact even though it was the right size, it was way less comfortable to ride than the big bike. Hmph.

On Sunday we finally made it to Pleasant Oaks where we rode around and around and around and around in an ATV which upon closer inspection, I noticed was only supposed to be used by one person at a time. There were lots of wild animals! We saw some adorable teeny weeny fiddler crabs waving around their claw trying to get some ladies back into their holes. There were a few deer. Lots of birds including ospreys, quail, an owl, and even a hawk that tried to drop some carrion on top of us. AND there was a baby alligator that Lyle’s mum had shot because it was threatening the afore mentioned smelly doggy. Apparently there were a lot of alligators which it is against the law to kill except in self-defence. =/

Now I’m back at work, eating my way through the long, long, long work day. For breakfast I had two types of cereal, an Apple Cinnamon Rice Krispies bar, a chocolate toffee thing (rip off from southern season, looked mildly fancy, tastes just like a Heath Bar), and a banana. Then for lunch I had some stuffs my mum packed me and some milk. Then in the kitchen room I found a delicious peach and grapes that had been put out! And I ate my raspberry yogurt. Then I had a frozen banana. Yep done for now. Still hungry.

Haaaahahhaha sorry yesterday when I said NK won I meant...they scored a goal -_- lol@Anna - "Are you living in NK??" That took me a minute. Speaking of Korea and soccer, SK was slaughtered by Argentina yesterday! And Korea took down Greece which means...they should probably just go home before they play Argentina. Ha just kidding! I guess sports don't always work like that. Kind of like Pokemon. Water beats grass which beats fire which...is also beaten by water. WAIT jk I just looked it up grass beats water so it works out yay!

It seems like a bigger issue has arisen though. Wouldn't water beat grass because if you water too much than you would drown your plants? Sometimes if it's down a mountain and there's soil erosion, the water can wash away the vegetation altogether.

Today my brother went off the the motherland. He was very morose last night because we wouldn't let him take his laptop to China. I would be very concerned if he did because he'd probably come back shorter from lugging that around all the time. I'm going to miss him! Who am I gonna use as an excuse to play Wii? Who is going to distract my parents from paying attention to me?? WHO'S GOING TO TAKE OUT THE RECYCLING??? Pressing issues at hand here. Hm maybe Lyle will do it.

I keep telling myself that I should get up at least every half hour so I'm not sitting 8 hrs a day but there's really just not enough excuses for me to be up and about all the time. Help!!!

Remember me?

I’m being super sneaky right now. I’m typing this blog entry as an outlook e-mail at work so it looks like I’m being productive! :D I actually legitimately have nothing to do right now though. Yes, I’m just that good. This is the first time I’ve used Microsoft Outlook without it being attached to a web browser. It’s pretty much the same except it doesn’t have the web browser part at the top. I’ve always thought Microsoft Outlook was really annoying though because whenever I feel the urge to click the “e-mail this” buttons on various webpages, the Outlook configurations starts up and I have to shut it all down. No! I’m not ready to learn how this works yet!

Ugh I’m soo sleepy!! Whenever I stay over at Lyle’s, I usually become half-zombie the next day. Usually it’s because we spontaneously wake up and have sex in the middle of the night, but there has been an occasion where I was just.. ahem, subconsciously begin “attacking” him while we’re both asleep?? I swear I do not remember this. I was asleep throughout but he seems to remember it quite vividly. Well, as vividly as a groggy person can manage.

The most consistently focused version that I see of Lyle is when we wake up in the morning from the second he gets out of bed to when we arrive in the parking lot at work. We both work for his dad’s recruiting/headhunting firm. I had never heard of these until Lyle started working here, but apparently they are all over the place and even my mom gets a bunch of e-mails from them. In case you haven’t heard of them either, basically companies hire them to find really good candidates to jobs because sometimes the people who apply are really not that great. Sometimes when people are actually looking for a job, there is a reason why they are not at one or why they want to leave their current one, so recruiting firms will often look for people who are happily working at a job and then BAM, do you want a new one?

I seem to wear a lot of inappropriate clothing to work, including:
A shirt that didn’t come down far enough paired with pants that didn’t come up high enough; in short, the two items didn’t quite meet most of the time
A white fleece jacket with a hood (it gets cold in there!! Must buy work-friendly jacket x_x)
Today I wore these beige corduroy pants, for the 3rd time, and NOW Lyle tells me, “Yeah those pants aren’t great either. And my dad likes belts.” Thanks.
Last week I wore a dress that I thought plunged too much because I forgot to bring something to Lyell’s to wear underneath, but Lyle didn’t think so.

Did anyone see the Brazil-NK game yesterday? I’m so happy that NK won! I’m really outraged at all those people on the FIFA boards who are like omg! NK is so cowardly, defense the whole time! What the hell, that’s just their strategy, it’s what they’re good at and that’s how they play. I don’t see how that’s “cowardly.” Also, I think it’s dumb that people were like, geez why didn’t Brazil score more on a team that’s ranked 105. WELL, there are a lot of factors that contribute to them being “105,” and one thing that probably contributes to that number is that NK is a recluse country and they prob just don’t get out as much as other teams.

Anyway, time to get back to work. I’m going to blog more from now on!
