Break In

My apartment was broken into today...the thief only had to jiggle my window and step inside. I can't believe it was so easy! The only thing that is gone is some cash and my iPad (and its awesome case/keyboard) but my laptop was too crappy to steal and if they had taken my TV that would've been doing me a favor because I don't know even have cable and I kind of want to get rid of it but it weighs too much. =P

I think it was a blessing in disguise and also a sign...that I need to waste less time on my iPad and move into a different apartment. I am pretty upset that my tiny tower which I have probably now spent hours and hours of my life on is almost certainly no more, but again - blessing in disguise I will no longer be playing such a stupid game! I will miss reading my ebooks on there though but I think reading in bed is an unhealthy habit anyway.

Protein Bars

Today I bought 8 protein bars. I have been lead to believe that I need more protein in my diet for a variety of reasons:

I bought them because they were the ones which were on sale at the local grocery store, and I selected the flavors based on my preferences. Here is a graph of the features which I deemed important. K I just noticed they all contain some type of chocolate (-_-;;) :

I'm going to review all of them!! Unfortunately, I will probably have to keep them in my fridge so the mice don't eat them before I do...hopefully that will not affect the taste too much. Just from their stats, it seems that PowerBar is the best "bang for the buck" option.

Boogers

Last night Dalton fell asleep in my bed (while he was in the process of hiding from my mom) so I slept in his bed. I just returned to my bed for a slow day of lazing around and I've already found two surprises Dalton left behind...ewww little boys.

Murphy's Law is a huge dick.

Seems like so many big things that I get excited about always go wrong. Here are some examples:
1. Get to stay at a nice hotel. What really happens? I flip over a car.
2. Go out for drinks on company tab. Actually? I accidentally suffocate myself and nearly go unconscious.
3. Sign up for a cruise with my fav people. A. The US govt is a bitch and B. I am not really their fav person back so they drop the fuck out.
4. Want to go on a road trip...too bad the Canadian border is way too complicated apparently. Come on it's not Mexico how bad can it be??

My reply: Great! Thanks!

Louisa – Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. Thanks for reaching out. I think you were a very strong candidate and you will find a great job. You were in our top quartile of candidates. First, I would not get discouraged – the interview process is a total numbers game. Continue to take as many interviews as you can to get the experience, even if you don’t really want the position. Like I said, you were a very impressive candidate. I would focus on speaking with conviction and anticipate the types of questions that will be asked of you in an interview. This all comes with practice. You have all of the relevant experience and impressive pedigree, the most important thing is confidence (not arrogance) in answering an interviewer’s question.

Watch out

Today when I got to the swimming pool, there was only one open lane and it was by the wall, but I took it anyway. There weren't that many people there - almost everyone had a lane to themselves. I had been swimming for about 10 minutes with no interruption when an Asian man asked to join me. I said of course, but as he got in and started swimming, I realized I was outraged at the man.

I was unsure as to why I was so upset at this because I have, in the past, shared lanes with random people without wanting to punch them every time we passed each other in the pool. Then I realized it was because there were so many other lanes with only 1 person in them that were NOT next to the wall - if you're next to the wall, the waves from the other person are like 10xs bigger and it's so annoying!!

But of course there was really nothing I could do about it without being a little bit ridiculous so I just seethed to myself for the duration of my work out. Also, right after I got out of the pool, he did as well. -_- Grr.

The other day I tried to buy chocolate covered pretzels at the school store thing, which were ~$3.69/lb. The man rang it up as peanut butter covered pretzels, which were ~6.39/lb. I notified him of his error, and he kind of just stared at me, and I offered to check the code on the container and he was just like, "NO. The total is only around $.80 and I am not ringing it up again."

I was so appalled that he refused to charge me the correct price for my pretzels! So I was just like...nevermind then. >.>

Today I purchased Starburst Crazy Beans, which is a twist on normal Starburst jelly beans (which are WAY better than jelly belly jelly beans, jsyk). They look pretty good but I personally prefer the normal flavor. So if you find yourself trying to decide between the two, I would recommend the latter.

My favorite month!

I'm so upset that I didn't blog at all in February because not only is it my favorite month, but also I should really blog way more than once a month, and definitely more than 0 times a month...therefore I am double posting because clearly that balances everything out.

Life in February:
-depressed from getting no job interviews
-depressed from doing terrible job interviews
-wanna go back to Belgium!
-eating a lot as usu, including wild gummy bears
-drinking a lot of green tea frappucinos
-my 21st birthday, holla!!
-Andre Agassi came to give a talk at Penn. I RSVP-ed an hour after they announced this, had a midterm right before the talk, arrived slightly late and got put into the room with a projector of Andre Agassi in the auditorium next door...did not see the man lol.
-still have not seen the house I'm living in next year, although I have paid a good $1300 towards rent

Tomorrow my brother's school is having crazy hat day and I have this awesome hat I want him to wear but I don't know where it is!!! He got a haircut today and looks less like a punk!

My karaoke machine sucks. There are less than 10 songs I can actually sing along to, and it's a harsh grader. I only received 15/100 pts for the first song I attempted on it today!

I would give up Chipotle for a year to have a summer internship right now.

By the way, if you are reading this right now, I love you! :)
