Today I was on this calorie site that has a cute article every day..I don't use it to look up calories anymore because I know all the calories of everything already, yay go me!
Anyway, today's article was about 15 healthy foods which give you optimum nutritional bang per buck/shelf space to have at all times. I decided to see how many I had to see if I keep healthy food company. And here they are!
1. Yogurt - I've got Greek yogurt! Even better. And it's nonfat.
2. Wild Salmon - smoked salmon? a TON of salt but...delish
3. Egg whites - eh I've got a bunch of eggs but I don't eat them consistently
4. Leafy Greens - sometimes I buy spinach, I've got frozen broccoli in my freezer that I dig into at least once every 2 weeks!
5. Blueberries - no, usu. too expensive to justify =/
6. Apples - I had a big bag of baby Fuji's last week! I finished the last two yesterday.
7. Tomatoes - YES, grape tomatoes...much more expensive than normal ones but soo much easier.
8. Orange juice - No. This is the one thing on this list I really don't agree with because a bunch of its stuffs is fortified and it's kinda processed.
9. Sweet potatoes - YEAH!!! But I hardly ever eat them. They are all sprouting. Hopefully they are still edible.
10. Wheat germ - I don't know what this is.
11. Pomegranate - No, I don't really like pomegranate that much. It's too much trouble and very messy and not that available comparatively to other food.
12. Hot peppers - No.
13. Oatmeal - Yeahh I have oats! Yay go me :)
14. Almonds - Yuuup a bunch! And other assorted nuts as well.
15. Black beans - I think I have one can of cooked black beans. I still have it because I haven't eaten any.
Verdict: 9.5/15, that's pretty good!!!
