Running running as fast as we can

My publicly professed goal for the 5K I'm running on Sunday is 25 minutes. Which means secretly I am striving towards 24:30 (don't tell!!!). "Striving towards" means I won't hate myself if I don't make it. A goal is something you should really reach!! Or else you have to make one of these statements: "Yeah I didn't quite ______, but ______ was still a really good experience!!!!/some other 'silver lining.'" Not that there's anything wrong with that, but the first part is really the main thing you wanted!

I've gotten down to about 25:20 on the treadmill, but the thing with the treadmill is:
1. Who knows how fast you are really going? How accurate is it? Is it actually not the same difference for people with different running styles? It just seems like there could be a lot of variation.
2. It's in an AIR CONDITIONED room. Okay Sunday is actually perfect weather or running with a high of 67 degrees which means at 10 AM it will be pretty cool. And it says PM showers... PM!
3. The treadmill keeps the pace for you. You know approximately how fast you are going at all times. Meaning, you will not go too fast in the beginning and die halfway through.
4. You go in a completely straight line on a completely flat surface which absorbs shocks!

Other concerns:
1. I didn't start running intensively until this Monday. Okay I ran for a total of 10 minutes on Monday so.. I didn't start running intensively until Tuesday! But it feels real good afterwards.
2. I have ankle issues. And back issues now also as a result of 1. 2 is also a cause of 1. All these concerns are related! How comforting.
3. I've been getting a bit bulkier because of all the food I have eaten this week to fuel my running. But anything extra is more WORK for my legs. =/
4. Running in the morning is a lot harder for me. By a lot I mean I go probably 2/3 the speed in the early morning. But I will warm up.
5. My legs are going to be really tired from all the running that I don't usually do.

Haha by intensive running I mean like 30 minutes, not hours, just to clarify.

Hopeful side speaking:
1. Adrenaline!
2. Having people to race will help? Although sometimes if I see other people running faster I'm just like aaah can't do it, why try, and then I just go slower -_-
